Stock rarely disappears in one big loss. It goes a piece at a time: a carton not recorded, a sale written in the wrong book, a delivery that was short. Here are five habits that close the gaps.
1. Record every sale, every time
If a sale is not recorded, the stock looks like it was stolen. Use one place for all sales (a till, or VunaBook on a phone) so that the stock goes down by itself with each sale.
2. Count a little, often
Do not wait for the end of the year. Count 10 to 20 products every week, starting with the ones that cost the most or sell the most. Compare with what the system says and write down every difference.
3. Check deliveries before you sign
Count what arrives against the order and the supplier's invoice. A short delivery that is signed for becomes your loss.
4. Give each person their own login
When staff share one login, nobody is responsible. With their own login and only the permissions they need, every sale, discount and return shows who did it.
5. Watch the alerts
Low-stock and stock-count alerts tell you early. A product that keeps going missing in the counts is the one to watch.
In VunaBook: Stock Counts compares what you count with what the system expects, and the Activity Log shows who changed what.
