Accounts
Every place money is kept: cash drawers, bank accounts, M-Pesa / Tigo Pesa / Airtel Money tills. Each has its balance and a statement, and its currency (your main currency, or another one such as USD). Money moves only between accounts of the same currency, and accounts in another currency stay out of the books.
